HI-DEF TV’s and Analog CATV Signal Level

Is there a minimum amount of analog signal you should have hitting a Hi-Def TV?
My system specs are to have +2 to +5 db at the wall plate. I have just started to see
more service calls coming in for poor pics on HI- Def sets. When I read the Technicians notes I noticed they all seem to be on the lower side of the spec’s. I am not sure about ones on the high side because we have not had any calls that I know about with Hi-Def sets receiving +4 or above. All Digital channels are clear.
I have tried to contact Sony, Hitachi, and a few other dealers and service places and have gotten no answers.
If everyone is thinking alike, someone isn't thinking.
