If company X has 20 illegals working on plow crews placeing cable and the average wage for those illegals is $8.00, how do you propose that company Y, who refuses to hire illegals, can afford to bid a job against company X?
The only way to do so is bite the bullet on the placeing and hit the splicers up for 45 to 50% off the top of the contract price instead of only 15%.
The splicers are not getting together and renting a house with 15 people living in it and sending what they do make to a foreign country to be spent. The splicers are paying taxes, supporting their families and spending what they do make in the US.
The illegals DO directly affect the industry as a whole and drive prices down.
