Oh...just a note about why the 9821 worked on ch 74.

He must have originally had a 9820 in place to enter the config, but may have had a problem with it & replaced it with the 9821. The controller then forced the old config settings on this module & thus the problem you fixed.

I've seen some quirky things like that before with those things...kinda nice in a bind...but probably led the old guy to a false conclusion of being fixed.
