I am in the industry as one of those that works both cable and satellite. The signal I deliver is from Direct or Dish over a 550 MHz system. I have just been asked if there is a way to pipe 1080i HD out over the headend to the residences. I cannot think of a way to do this correctly, down convert to upconvert will not work, only pushes 480p.
Does anyone have any suggestions.
Sp[ecifications of current system
63 channels of SD from Direct modulated from 2-64, sent via hardline thru LEs and taps to units, no set top boxes in units.
2 channels digital off air diplexed into system in digital format.
need to include HDNET and ESPN HD off the direct tv recievers.
any help is welcome.
