there is no provider in this industry that is willing to deal with all of the unemployment or overhead associated with the seasonal nature of the work. contractors will always be a part of the industry because there are entirely too many alternatives to that provider for them to put subs on a 2 week wait for service. think about it. even in NEW homes the phone is all terminated. cable: very rarely (if it is, you probably have to remove the braid from the conductorr crimped on with pliers by replacing the fitting and then replacing the plate with one that is rated properly). god only knows where they will want that tv and there's a 50/50 chance it won't be where the existing outlet is. in older houses, is it the proper cable? is it cracked or bent so badly that it is sure to fail? does the customer have ENOUGH cable to the location for the services they are wanting? all of this is something that the providers must consider when what they are willing to pay an EMPLOYEE. it just won't happen. prices will go too high. it's already more expensive than half the people's electric bill and almost every heating and phone bill. subs are here to stay. they just can't do it without us.
PRAISE GOD, HALLELUJA, LET THE PRICES BE RESURRECTED!
