Seems Comcast is following the lead of Cablevision in their pricing structure and at the same time demanding tighter specs and procedures so that even if one hangs a new drop, runs all new quad shield lines, splitters, G.B.'s, etc,but your return is still out of spec 1 db ^ and it's obviously a plant issue, ie; no braid touching the stinger yadda yadda they'll look to chargeback the prime because " I don't recall me being informed" or "you can't activate a customers home if the readings are out of spec".
Unfortunately once again this lowering of prices and demanding more for less will lead to swarms of reject burger flippers and day laborers becoming the new "techs" of this once gainful industry.
The MSO's are not stupid in their endeavors, don't be fooled by thinking they are not seeing whats coming down the road. They are setting up a structure that will enable them to eventually get most of their labor done for free via chargebacks before the prime even see's how their invoicing has been hacked up.
It's going to bee a hoot when the "tech" that comes to do your voice install can't speak a word of english and thinks it's great they are getting paid $7 an hour in America.
