i personally will walk away from a ridiculous job when the customer produces a 3rd party salesman rather than negotiate something that isn't really acceptable to the customer or myself.......if they are going to lie about what they're getting and what the installer can do then they deserve to lose that money, hopefully someone is keeping track of lost installs and they'll be held accountable like an installer is when they leave. how many times have the rest of you had some sales partner who's jobs you cringe at getting........or been sent out to install 2 boxes to the same tv for say hd and dvr where the customer can get all the equipment for free and they expect you to run more rooms than you can get paid for? salesman are great and keep us in work so long as they are in touch with the field...........if there is no connection between promised and deliverable an installer would be an idiot to touch the job knowing he's responsible for god knows how long.
