don't be to offended, its just the way some dogs are. Listen, the best way to learn to splice is to hang w/ a good splicer. I hired a helper during a rebuild and ended up paying him very well cause he increased my production by quite a bit. Ask the lead tech in the system who does their production splicing and give him a call.
As for pay out, coring tools are about $100 each and you will eventually have every size. A good meter is important, you need to get used to looking at the whole spectrum instead of a few channels. W/ diligence and comitment you will make great money but you will be on the road alot.
