Lost a pole drill and my hand tools while doing a pole xfer for telco in Austin at a project home/environment (not sure what the politically correct term for that is) just by being in the bucket and having my back turned.
As for the guy that wrote in about Rotwilers, I was doing a mid-span c wire drop and had to get into the back of the home being a rear easment. I was allowed in. The xtmr stated that the Rots were friendly. I mildly walked to the pole and one of those SOB's bit me in my calf enough to draw blood. I did as anybody in my place would do and grabbed my line wrench and (if you know what wrench im talking about then you know how it could really do damage) raised it after yelling like a crazy person and if it werent for the xtmr yelling at me not to do it, would have knocked the holy cr*p out of this dog. I was accused of horrible things by the owner for 'making her dogs angry'. 2 hours later and police etcetera I was finally able to complete that job.
Never turn your back on a yard dog. I learned the wring way.
