Re: General Liability and Workman's Comp

Lifters,
1. WC really does vary from state to state and insurance company to insurance company.
2.If your prime guy is deducting from your check you are covered. Ask for an insurance certificate. This is a phone call deal for them. If they balk and refuse to do it they are taking your money but you are not covered.
3. If you are injured your hospitalization carrier will ask, " WAS THIS DONE AT WORK?" If you say yes they most probably will not pay your emergency room bill.
4. As others have stated, WC is expensive but working "bareback" can be worse.
5. That is why contractors quote a price based on their costs and profit margin. After you get some WC quotes and calculate all the other overhead see what you need to make a dollar. Working for free is not the same as being free.

Watchem!
