Your post is another part of the picture.

I.ve seen some really crappy installations.
The service calls on the really crappy installations can be a wild ride. HSPs overbook their techs and route like there are no maps left in the world. Fulfillment companies will engage "Road Crews" to hot spot areas and "get the numbers up." Everybody wants to "Get 'er done". Then then same system seems insistant on "Do 'er right" the second time....for cheap..or free.
You roll in on a pissed off cx who expects more free stuff and thinks you are the guy to give it.

I have fewer regrets for the jobs I passed on; asshole cx = seeya, than I do with projects I tried to make nice; work and materials for nada.

That "clik" sounds more and more right.
