Your post is a perfect example of a relationship test.

If you felt "they" who told you to make nice with the cx were giving you an instruction and you could be terminated....this is one of the tests to determine if you are or were acting as an employee. In which case "they" pay 1/2 your SS, pay WC insurance and deduct Federal & State taxes.

If you felt "their" instruction was just a suggestion because you had already dealt with your customer and "they" could just send more work or not you could have been acting as a contractor.

Been there. Cx has no furniture or food for the kids but has a right to the "free" four IRD installation. Pease do not run any cable under the rugs. And, since the man pulled the phone, please use your cell to activate the system and accept a charge back for failure to connect the disconnecyed phone line.
