New Orleans has a screwed up history that alot of their residents fail to pay attention. Number one they live in a former French Territory. What people don't realise is that the French have some evil social practices that have trickle down to New Orleans' present society. The French first have the Class system the aristocrats and the peeons. The aristocrats are protected no matter the cost the peeons are left to fend for themselves. Then there is the color system. Of course non whites are treated badly but the light skinned Creoles are treated better than those that are darker with more African descent. In the sixties and seventies I was told that it was still very strong in the French Territory of St. Maarten as well as Louisiana. In New Orleans if there was a flood some of the levees were blown up to redirect the water away from the wealthy areas and as a result would flood the ninth ward. Back then the ninth ward was a predominantly white community. After numerous floods most of these people left that area an moved further north. This opened this unwanted real estate to more blacks and the poor. So "Chopps" it is very possible that some of these levees were sabotaged but I do agree that they should have left history made it clear. Pay attention it is not a Black and White thing anymore it is about the "have and the have nots".
