I AM NOT FAMILIAR WITH THAT PARTICULAR METER, BUT TW SHOULD TELL YOU IF IT'S IRC/HRC OR STD.
GENERALLY QAMS 256/64 ARE 6MHZ WIDE.
If you dont set symbol rates to correct setting you will get false BER readings.
256QAM Symbol rate (MSps) 5.3605
64 QAM Symbol rate (MSps) 5.0569
As far as 8VSB I dont think you will be seeing that in the plant, that modulation was designed for broadcasters to transmit digital signals off air.
Maybe someone else knows TW system specs, I don't.
Anyone chime in if my info is incorrect....
