Tell me if you think this is an option. How about bidding for work or only accepting contracts that allows you to pay fair wages AND obey the law. Why is that not option. Other companies in other industries do it, why not sat.
This "so-called" subcontractor scam allows them to pay lower rates than a company that bids and accept work only when the contract allows them to pay fair wages AND obey the law.
You guys are advocating the idea that the only way you can make money in cable/sat is if you break the rules. Maybe you're right. Maybe the skills sat/cable techs are worth nothing when put in an environment where all laws are observed. Only in our little word of worker mis-classification are our skills worth anything. Maybe in the real world, cable/sat guys are only worth 11/hr.
What counts more? Your worth when all the rules are observed, or when laws are broken?
Hmmmm...so shouldnt those companies who use the illegals get a pass too? Or is it only cable/sat contracting companies that are allowed not to obey the law but still get to waive a .
