uboat,
what if the negotiated agreed pay scale isn't as good as contracting, will he in house tech then be able to contract or will that be a conflict of interest. and what if any changes will a union shop bring to the contractor aspect. will this "union shop" have any bearing on contractor pay structure? Or will this give an HSP the excuse to lower rates to subs.
to be honest, i have had a bad experience with unions and you know how i feel about them. But what i do notice here are alot of contractors. I have been a retailor for both dish and DTV but, I am 1st and foremost a cable dawg thats where i cut my teeth, and most everyone i know in cable is not union. Although they could be i'm sure. The thing I'm getting at is this, there is an opportunity to join yet they don't, why? If a union is a better way, why aren't more cable dawgs in one? Maybe I'm viewing it wrong. Shed some light.
