Ive been job hunting myself lately. Ive only been subbing for 21/2 years. In this short time I have really forgotten about how much goes into just applying, and getting jobs outside of this business. IF im lucky to be contacted, Im being asked for H.S. transcripts, DMV abstracts, and proof of all my Certs. Before I even get to that part, I gotta take diiferent types of tests. My algebra is very rusty, Im being forced to open the old electronic math books.
This is really different from what I have gotten used to the last 2 years. Here I just make call, send over a certificate of insurance and Im getting work. Never even see most of the people I have worked for. The process of getting hired usually takes nothing but a couple of hours. Its starting to come back to me now, how it is outside of this. Youve got to really sell yourself.
