It's amazing what will screw VoIP/CDV up. Suck outs seem to add a fluttering sound. If the cust can't hear the other side it's a downstram problem. if it's the other way around it's the return. one nice thing about the arris emta, the battery. You can take the thing up the pole and right into the tap as long as you add a pad so you don't slam the signal. I've done that aobut 5 times, rules out outlets, splitters, backfeeds, and drops. Even other customer's drops. Good luck.
