Did you try:
Start/run CMD
Type: ipconfig release /all
then type: ipconfig renew /all
Should get you on the road with out any issues..
192's (pulling ip from local router or device)
0.'s (virgin ip.... release/ renew)
169's (Not seeing the outside world or past the card/USB)
You may already know all this but if not maybe this will help save sometime on your next one.
