sorry about that. OK this part is very complicated and needs to be looked at open minded. Geography plays a lot in revinue, both for the cable company and union. large city's have high revinue per square mile compared to the suburbs. Which brings more revinue for less plant. Which then they can afford to pay higher wadges and then as time goes on, unions can force their hand for higher wages. Being realistic a company cannot payout more than it can afford. As time goes by salaries will increase but only when condition permit. The same was also with the other utility companies. I hope you know NY. Cablevision ,Timewarner & Verizon, All have different pay rates for Long Island, NY City, New Jersey & Connecticut. From Brooklyn i could be in any of those locations in 20 munites. Thats how big a deal geography plays.
