If your plant is not swept correctly it will affect your transmit levels. Have them check your mac address and see what you are hitting the UBR (I assume you have a Cisco Router) at. It should be zero….The modem will range until it finds zero. You should check your telemetry at the Node and see if your amps and your node agree (except in return amp differences. …like your node has a 20 db return amp and your amps have a 15 db return…. I think they have gotten rid of them now days the return amps are exactly the same in every active.) I would put the same modem on a 100-foot drop and check the Mac address at several locations off the same leg to see if it is another problem. The problem is if you can’t perform this task yourself then you are subject to the conclusions of others and it can’t be relied on!!
