The big three auto manufacturers are doing poorly because of several different factors. One being, not offering vehicles that the public want to buy in this high gas price era. We all know that other types of fuel are making their way into America mainstream. If the automakers would have made a percentage of the vehicles "flex fuel" then they would have better sales.
I thought "NAFTA" was supposed to fix all of our economical woes. GM is the biggest employer in Mexico (last I heard).
Another factor is China. Our big three auto manufacturers only claim to be "American" in troubled times. They build a plant in China and within 3 months the Red Chinese have 3-5 plants building Chinese vehicles from a stolen design.
