Find out who owns what, they might even supply the coax if you present a well laid out plan. I let people do it in my system all the time,I even loan them crimp tools. Its easy enough to explain and good test equipment makes for a quick and easy check,pass or fail. I'd definantly contact the cable company though just out of courtesy if nothing else.
