Unions have there goods and there bads... First you do have to pay fees... not nessarly a bad thing depending on what you get... most have better benefits... paid vacation, ect.

But the problem with a union or contracts is this... a member agreement? sure who chose the agreement, who wrote it up? not the members... at least not all of them... The ones who talk over the good workers... the complainers those are the only ones that are gonna get anywhere... FOR A UNION TO WORK, EVERYONE HAS TO BE INVOLVED IN ALL STEPS....

And trust me alot will say they care and do, and others will say they care and dont. There are alot of hypocryts out there people who will say one thing do another.

Oh another thing STATES... BIG ISSUE... My state is a right to work state means even if it is a closed union shop... you can still work and get union benefits and not pay a dime. great place to start a business for not too many laws against businesses (OBVIOUSLY) so if a union would become successful it have to start a place like californai where unions actrully mean something.
