I perfer to use the 8591C and a bandpass filter, do yuor measurement in marker noise function of the analyzer (This is the noise power in a 1Hz BW and add the correction factor 66 dB) This is the correction factor to measure nouise in a 4 MHz band width. this sounds like a lot of work but it will provide yuo with a very accurate measurement.
as for the SDA 5000 I love that piece of equipment but the C/N functtion is a little flakey. I would not ride the health of my HE on it.(snipper)
