6x8 powered 4x8 stacking

Ok check this out I went and did a kaku where they had a 4x8 powered... but i was bringing a high def and a dvr and of course the kaku upgrade. So I call my company to ask for another 6x8 switch... they told me to stack the 2. the 6x8(passive) and the 4x8 (Powered). so i did. In turn I heard humming (which is never a good thing) so i went back today and replaced the 6x8 only this time it still hummed but not humming and clicking. They are very strict about handing out 6x8 so i had to do what i had to do. If it dont work this time ill go out and tell them i need 2 6x6 or get someone else to resolve the issue. Has anyone heard of this or know why this problem is being caused? (the problem btw is some tv have searching for sat) I also tried stacking the 2 6x8 but the one that was there was fried. But i donno if it was because of the powered 4x8 or it was going bad when i put it in origionally...
