First Timer

I am wondering how many of you have gotten work from someone contacting you from this site? If you have, would you say it worked out well and you would do it again or would you say that this really isn't the place to be? I was told to come look around and maybe do a posting but, I have only made it through the signing up part. Thanks in advance for your answers.
