You wear what they tell you so that a customer can identify that you are actually with the "company", not some criminal.
They can tell you what to do within the scope of work, not how to actually do the job (aside from codes and regulations).
You show up for work at a scheduled time because that is what is required in order for the MSO or HSP systems to operate at maximum efficiency.
And finally, if you are in breach of contract you don't get fired, the only recourse is to terminate the contract.
So to answer your question, yeah sounds like a contractor.
