Re: Illegals are marching, and why we don't

Most of the non-English speaking immigrants don't have any English speaking relative to practice their English with. When they are with their families they speak their native language because that is what they know. That makes it more difficult to learn English, but not impossible. I have known immigrant families who have been in this country 20 years and they still don't speak English at home.
As for my wife she has a built in English teacher. She took the basic and advanced ESL classes, but I am the one who has to explain the meaning of some words she doesn't know. We have been married 5 years and everyday is a learning process, for both of us.
