Re: Enlighten me!

i think the reasons for the background checks make a lot of sense to everybody involved, but i'm a little less clear on the driving record. i understand lawyers and what not as i caused an accident when i was 16 in a car owned by my dad's car lot. it took them 18 months to decide to sue as no one was hurt except for me and the cars, but that's capitalism for you! anyway, every prime i've ever talked to wanted a minimum of $500,000 dollars commercial liability insurance on the vehicle so i'm still a little hazy on it.

back to the background checks though, i just want to say that i appreciate those people that are willing to look at a person's performance and character as well as a background check. one of the reasons i got into cable was because of how hard it was to find a job once i got clean, despite an education. my philosophy has always been that once the cops, the judges, and my family knew what i'd done there was no reason to lie to anyone else so i've always been straight up about my past when i start something new even if i'm not asked about it. i understand that people don't have to ever overlook my mistakes, but when they do i count it as something of a favor and do my best each day to pay it back. i'm aware that other people don't feel the same about any of the things that i just said, but to those that do thank you.
