I just saw the video products the phone company is launching to compete with cable, and AT&T has a really nice product. As far as the FTTP product goes, they are having the vendors engineer the product so that once the backbone structure is completed there will be no need for contractors. The system is connected to the home in the same way you hook a garden hose up to the water spicett. From what I hear, Installers will get about $6.00 a house for installing it.
