Typical management BS. Sure you dont mind standardazation. Getting a better trained installer for the same price is a good deal for you.
I dont think no one want to just tell the boss what their going to pay. I think people just want to be put in a position where they do some REAL baragaing and not beg. Having access to company financial documents needed to perform good faith bargaining is one of the best things about collective bargaining. If one side is being unreasonable the documents are there for a federal mediator or any other neutrall third party to see.
