Disco 12$????? What are you talking about bro. As a prime I only get $6 to $8. Some systems pay out the tech $3.50. The thing is Trey your not doing electrical work your doing cable work. I can train you to do a disco in a half day. How long you think it takes to learn how to disco the power line to a house? Electricians require more money and often do not want to waste their time on petty things like running cable drops in new houses. In return they jack their rates on the crap they have no interest doing. If your only making $1000 a week in this business then it would serve your best interest to continue this conversation to your grave. You obviously don't have a grasp of the situation that the cable business is in right now. Look at the balance sheets these cable companies have. Half the ones out there are teetering with bankruptcy each quarter. They charge $15 for limited basic in some systems and the power company still charges the same customer $50 for that ac in the 900 Sq ft house. You tell me where that $150 wall fish is to be afforded by the cable company when your looking at a 400% ratio to the rates? You get 30 for a wall fish the electrician gets about 4x that which is about right if you look at the moneys going out and in. Also where as
you have competition in cable services there is none in the electrical business. I honestly believe you should look into becoming an electrician if thats the kind of pay scale you want to compare something to. Your comparison to an electrician doing cable work is the same as me going to a brain surgeon for a physical. Hey they both do the same thing why does the specialist charge more? Why on earth would a reg MD settle for less than a specialist that has more time and education when they do that same thing? My dentist wrote my prescription for viagra but hey he did it for free thats a damn shame lol. And he makes less than my doctor. Jeez I'm getting a headache so many people getting ripped off in the world. And my dentist giving me stuff for free. Thats just unbearable. You know how many times cable dawgs do crap for free? Have you ever saw the movie with Jim Carrey in it? Reco on a sale because you don't want to take a chance on the install guy missing his slot and losing a sale? That is done for myself not the customer or the install tech. Its obvious you need to find another career. Jump up a level if you have the intelligence and do some sweeping and travel. Then you will earn your moneys and feel needed. If you prefer to do discos then stay at the bottom and quit complaining.
