Re: Phone Lines

No a phone line should not be a part of the basic satellite installation. The hsp, msp, and now practically all of the retailers are wanting phone lines because DTV wants them on each receiver. 1..so that DTV can tell that all of the receivers are in the same household. Believe it or not, if you have 5 families running off from papa's account, then DTV looses big time. and 2. it is way easier to buy pay per view if you have remote control accessibility..who wants to pay 3.99 to call in, or even go to their cpu and buy a movie. Those are the two basic reasons that they want that phone line hooked up. I will not install a permanent phone line in a house for free, now I will take out my teleco crimper's and run the longest phone line you have ever seen right across the ceiling fan, over the light fixture and through the kitchen to get a working phone line to a receiver. That is all I have to say about that.
