Re: Overtime pay on piece work

I have read over many of these posts about the ot on piece work. The bottom line is that EMPLOYEES have to be paid for OT. They also have to earn minimum wage for the hours that they do work. If the piece price they are making does not come up to minimum wage the company has to pay them any thing over the piece rate to bring them up to minimum wage.
SUBCONTRACTORS are not regular employees so they do not have to be paid OT or Minimum wage. This is why many companies are using more subcontractors!
AND NOW>> you see why jobs working as employees are disappearing! The Companies that contractors are getting work from are only willing to pay so much any more.. no matter how much the contractors try to get. Then you have all this composite price crap! YOU CAN"T MAKE MONEY IN CABLE LIKE YOU USED TOO!
