Well I'd have to say if I could count on 1500 a week average for installs I'd still be doing them. Walking away from what I loved was very hard to do.
In my area 50 calls a week are a minimum requirement for a tech, even if it takes you seven days. And a good week is anywhere close to a grand. 20 bucks a call is an exceptional average for a sub. That's why we've got so many hacks, 3 dollar discos. 8 dollar aos. If an installer could count on your average, the profession would attract better personnel.
You're averaging 50 bucks a call. That is exceptional, have your prime come and write some contracts in the North East. 50 bucks a stop means you don't have to rush. You can do a good job, and if you don't the prime can afford to get rid of you and get somebody else.
I just left, got into telco/security/controls. Even if they tell you to cut corners I just ask them to sign a waiver to take responsibility when the building burns down.
