Because they don't care. As long as the work gets done they have no concerns how the primes treat the installers nor do they care how much they do or do not pay them. The cable companies only real concern is the customer and once they get them on the hook they don't give a tinker's damn about them either. Don't fell alone, the same thing has been going on in the satellite biz as well. It won't stop until either one these rip-off primes gets toted off to jail or to the cemetary. Has anyone concidered contacting Primetime, 20/20 or Dateline about this, not just for one case but to look into a bunch of cases? With all the rip-off's that have taken place since the hurricanes you'd think they be interested in a story about a large number of hard working guys getting ripped off while trying to repair storm damage. Heck they jump at the chance to expose two or three rip-off plumbers or refridgerator repairmen, why not this subject? So if you have been ripped off by a prime (either cable or satellite) then contact John Quiones at Primetime or one of the guys from the other news magazine shows about it.
