Agree with most that's been said about newer model white trucks . Not only does it help to present professionalism and unity ( very important for team-oriented companies ) , but , from the MSO and Prime perspective , it presents a larger fleet image to the public . Later down the road , when you have reached a Master +/- skill level , and have carved out your own little niche in the business, companies will except you regardless, and/or provide you with a company vehicle of thier choice. But , you got to remember, if you are just starting out, you are entry-level, ( Apprentice ) so to speak , and you must demonstrate that you are willing to adhere to company policy. You got to pay your dues, dude. Ain't no jump'n to the front of the line, especially if you have chosen cable as your career.
On a funnier note about white trucks , I remember a few years back , the company I worked for at the time took delivery of half a dozen or so brand new Ford F150's, all on the same day. That evening , the Underground Manager broke off his key in the wrong truck. ( his was a F250 ).
Have you ever seen a large parking lot half full of white contractor trucks , like at a supply house , or after a convention/big meeting lets out. Now , that is a site , everyone going around, hitting the panic button on thier remote door lock trying to find thier truck ( plain jane whites without decals or company identification )
