Most contactors I've worked for have asked that you drive a newer vehicle in their ads but will accept older ones as long as they are presentable.
The flip side of that is I see guys all the time with open bed pickups that are so unorganized and full of trash that it doesn't matter that the truck is brand new or not.
The big craze here is lil' minivans. Yep, soccer mom's grocerie getter is now dad's work truck....
