Just an observation - but I am curious to why this security act is suddenly "news worthy" to any of us? I mean this in the most lighthearted way possible but have any of us used a telephone in the last 10 years without KNOWING that we need to watch what we say?
Basically our gov't has had the power to spy on us for a LONG time and nobody really cared before now. Does any one really think this is anti-terrorist phenomenon makes it any different?
The excuse for it changes depending on the situation - but anyone from your local police, the IRS, or the Fed could spy on you at any time and they don't really even NEED a reason anymore. Unfortunately, it happens all the time! (not to say we don't have more liberty that many places in the world, but things ain't like they used to be!)
"oh - they are fighting agaist drugs", "Oh they are fighting against terrorists", "Oh they are fighting against the boogyman" , "oh they have an illegally obtained warrent" = WHATEVER.
Nothing new under the sun....
Blessings,
