I gotta cry bullshyt on the hard hat thing.... maybe if he tossed it up and then caught it - but no way can he just straight up drop it and then catch it at the bottom - it defies newton's law (remember the apple? big ball, little ball both hit the ground at the same time) He would have to be falling just to get there at the same time, not counting reaction time, time lost hooking down... yadda yadda.
It is a good line though.
