OK, you have me confused? What's the purpose of diminishing tap values? I always felt that if a plant is designed properly, by decreasing the DC value within the tap since that's all they are is a dc with a split combined. Then the compensation for loss back to the active, either forward or reverse, should keep your levels relatively even +/- 3 dB. Like I said....maybe I'm confused.
