Terminate the Supervisor. Make sure the beaten employee does not want to take legal action against the company and suggest the matter be referred to a private attorney. The guy who assaulted him is legally responsible for all damages. The guy who was the victim is liable for nothing and can seek judgments against the perpetrator, ad perhaps the person who divulged the information if it was slanderous. Hope that helps. You should definitely get rid of the loose cannon you call a Supervisor....he committed assault which is a crime punishable by jail time. The victim should file a police report as well.
