Do not buy the HD box. You will be throwing away your money. Comcast will not be transmitting any quams with HD content for the converter to decrypt anyway since you stated that they have not yet launched the service in that area. Wait until Comcast launches HD and rent the unit for a small fee. You actually will save money in the long run. The HD boxes that motorola has recently deployed have some problems and are shipped out under warranty repair quite frequently. Wait until the launch and get yourself a DVR. Even if you buy the box right now-you still won't get any true HD channels.
