I've worked with sj gear for years and find it to be good gear, but nothing is perfect. Could it be something as simple as a cracked line, any splicing done on that leg recently with a bad connector used? If your sure your input is solid then try putting some pressure on the eq while watching your output levels, found alot of bad motherboards over the years, make sure all three screws are in the eq and are tight. If you can terminate the output and watch your levels, also pull the feedermaker and see if it goes away,if so use a one way feedermaker to isolate the leg, divide and conquer.I assume its a trunk and feeder app. Now beyond that 45 volts is very borderline with sj and could cause hum to appear esp in the line extenders if your upgrading to c-cor and more bandwidth you will definantly need to look at adding a pwr supply. Hope this helps, dont give up fix the sj problem and learn then replace it!
