This stuff gets to me at times too. I consider myself fortunate to figure out my priorities at 27. That's why I am leaving Las Vegas. I have myself an expensive mortgage here and never seem to pull ahead. I have found myself a good contract in a smaller town where the homes are still 5 digit sale prices. I am also going to re-educate and get a new line of work. I love what I do, but I am pursuing a dream once I cash out of my house. I am going to flight school and will be a pilot. It is pretty techy and I love airplanes, flight, and everything about them.
I hope that most of us are here because we love our work. If we don't we need to find out what our ambitions are and get out of our ruts. This industry won't take care of us. Sometimes we just need to simplify. Life's too short to be spending it in a bucket or an attic. Instead of making our lives fit our jobs, we need to make our jobs fit our lives.
