Get BICSI certified and concentrate on Cat-5, 5e, and 6 installs. Bone up on MMFO terminations and other minor stuff associated with LAN fiber. You may want to look at residential hubs as a primary job, considering all the new houses going up. Maybe consolidate Audio, video, alarms, and data sales and installs to a builders customers. I looked at this briefly awhile back, and it showed some potential. I ended up being too busy doing Sonet fiber and didn't have time to devote to the marketing of this area of telecom. From what i saw, large builders are looking for small companies to partner up with. They like the idea of turning over a customer to a sub for all the technical upgrades without the hassels of managing that portion. It takes an extremely professional, and knowledgeable person that is great at sales, and installing. It looked like a possibility awhile back. Good luck.
