Dish Network installs--Hawaii

We are entering Hawaii and have the low-down on the different configurations that are alllowable. For instance, we know that

To get the Top 180, a 2nd dish is required.
To get the service to 3 or 4 rooms, a 4-to-4 switch? is required.

Now, I have been told that the dual receivers (625, 322, etc. )may be able to be used (without a 2nd coax line) by sending two signals down a line with a high frequency splitter. However, our installers in the mainland have not had any success with such splitters working past a week. Does anyone have any other experience with those splitters...installs in Hawaii?
