If the money works for you? Great. Most in house installers feel a lot less pressure, because they know they are going to make the $ no matter what pace they work at. Like others said, do the math for your situation and see if it works. I will say the MSO's must be rolling in the aisles laughing at $9.00/hr. I was making $7.00+/hr in 1977 (not in cable) and I thought that sucked. If you're thinking of working your way up in a MSO, just beware that in most every one, I've seen a hatchet man come through about every 5 years, resulting in the elimination of many, if not most of the higher wage, longer term positions. They don't fire people, they just "eliminate" their position.
