Eyeryone stay put. Don't gp yet!!! Hold out!!! I will tell you this, last year they wanted to pay piece rate. Then they could'nt get people. After a few weeks of customers calling in we got the rate we wanted with overtime. Everybody wants to help out the people down there but face it, Cable tv is the last thing on there minds and for those people that need tv, they will switch to directv and then the MSO will have to up the rates. Stay firm cable dogs. Don't sell yourself short you are worth more then they want to pay. Heck the insurance company pays the bill anyway. With the gas prices (if you can find it) and the travel to a hotel it will cost you money to work.
If you do go be careful and by all means be safe. Do your homework and check out the company you will be working for.
